Deconstructivism

Deconstructivism is an architectural aesthetic of fragmentation, chaos, and non-linear design that emerged in the 1980s to challenge structural norms. Applied to clothing, garments are deliberately left unfinished or taken apart. Raw edges are left showing. Construction details stay exposed and seams get turned inside out, in the tradition Margiela made recognizable.
