Regency

Regency is an early 19th-century British aesthetic drawn from the Jane Austen era, built on empire waists and classical influence, and revived repeatedly through period drama as a picture of Romantic-era elegance. Empire-waist muslin gowns are the defining garment. Spencer jackets go over them. Pelisse coats cover the outerwear. Long gloves reach up the arm, with feathered bonnets on top and cameo or pearl jewelry.
